Abdulla Qodiriy metro station

History and architecture

Named after writer Abdulla Qodiriy (1894–1938), author of the novel O'tkan kunlar (Bygone Days), who was shot during the Stalin-era purges. The hall has four-sided marble columns with openwork grilles and blue-and-red glass inserts, petal-shaped chandeliers, and a stained-glass panel above the escalator. The Alay Bazaar next door gave the station its design name.

Named after the writer Abdulla Qodiriy. Its design name was “Alay Market”.
