History and architecture

The project name honoured academician Tursunboy Rashidov, a specialist in the seismic resistance of underground structures who died in 2020. The final name is an ethnonym: the Qiyot are one of the Uzbek clans, and according to Abulghazi the word is the plural of Mongolian qiyan, a torrent rushing down from the mountains. The 0.7 km hop from Matonat is the shortest on the line.
