History and architecture

Tinchlik means "peace" in Uzbek. The station, designed by architect Ya. Mansurov, opened in 1991. Its columns widen towards the ceiling, are faced with Nurata marble and lit from the top, and crystal-and-brass chandeliers by A. Flit hang over the middle of the hall. One vestibule was the first in the Tashkent metro to share a single space with the underpass, separated from it only by stained glass.
