History and architecture

The station lies beneath the forecourt of the city's main railway station and was the line's eastern end from 1984 to 1987. Wall and ceiling decor resembles column capitals in a national style (ceramist S. Sultanmuratov). Ceramic panels by the stairs, with the city arms, mark Tashkent's 2000th anniversary, held in 1983, and the theme "Tashkent, city of peace and friendship" (artist O. Khabibullin).
