History and architecture

One of the nine stations that opened the Tashkent Metro on 6 November 1977, and the southern terminus until 2020. Until 2010 it was named after General Sabir Rakhimov, which explains the high reliefs of war and victory and his portrait on six red granite pylons. The reliefs are carved into the load-bearing structure, so they stayed after the renaming.
