History and architecture

Until 1992 the station was called Tashselmash, after the nearby plant that was the only maker of cotton-picking machines in the USSR. It opened in 1987. Columns and ceilings are faced with reddish-green marble, and cast-glass lamps run from the hall ceiling onto the stair walls, ending in a composition in the vestibule (artist V. Gan). It was closed twice, in 1989 and 1990, and reopened for good in 1991.

"Machine Builders". Until 1992 it was called "Tashselmash".
