History and architecture

The name means 'cotton grower', and the station is devoted to cotton: a ceramic mosaic of open cotton bolls, designed by the Zharsky brothers, runs along the platform, and a smalt mosaic of a running Olympic athlete by Vladimir Burmakin sits above the stairs. Pale Gʻozgʻon marble columns end in aluminium capitals lit from inside. The western entrance hall leads to Alisher Navoiy station.
